Shouwang is a founder member of the new music movement No Beijing, and is the guitarist / vocalist of Beijing indie band Carsick Cars. He is at the very heart of the new generation of Chinese avant-garde/indie rock musicians. this year flying to New York to take part in Glenn Branca's famous guitar symphony recording with 100 guitarists.
In 2005 he formed White No.1, a septet that paid tribute to the early work of Glenn Branca, and White 2J, in which he played keyboards. Finally this year he formed White with Shenggy. Performed in the 1+ 20 (Nov 23, 2006). In 2007, Carsick Cars supported Sonic Youth in Europe, debut album released on Maybe Mars Records (Beijing). White and Shouwang individually toured in Europe, attended festivals such as Sonar, Full Pull, etc. On November 25th, his debut record called Music for Films is released on Little Sound Records.
