Clayton Thomas

double bassist and grass roots organiser working in the broad spectrum of improvised and experimental music on planet earth. He is keenly interested in the relationship between electronic and acoustic music, and how their divergent histories create new language either by interaction or inference.He has been inspired and pushed as a musician and collaborator by many great musicians, including Jim Denley, Jon Rose, Alexander Von Schlippenbach, Marilyn Crispell, Tony Buck, Axel Dorner, Peter Kowald, Wilber Morris, Henry Grimes, Andrea Neumann, Cor Fuhler and Johannes Bauer amongst many others. He is also the founder of the NOW now festival of improvised music and the leader of the 30 piece electro-acoustic ensemble The Splinter Orchestra.
